Three conversion from single-phase power to three-phase is desirable to take advantage of cheaper,lighter,more compact,more readily available three-phase motos with a greater selection of types of enclosures and horsepower ratings.Three-phase motors are simpler in construction with no starting windings or starting devices and as such,fewer parts usually means fewer maintenance and service problems.
